Traditional Baker Expands with Two New Outlets

Two new bakery stores have been opened in Partick and Alexandria by James Allan Bakers, the well known West of Scotland bakery business, headquartered in Torrance, near Bishopbriggs.

With the addition of eight new staff to work at the two new outlets, James Allan Bakers now employs 60 staff at its main bakery and eleven retail outlets in and around Glasgow. The business was founded in 1969 and built an enviable reputation for quality, before being taken over in 2006 by Mark Bradford, an experienced craft baker & confectioner.

Late last year, the bakery scooped a prestigious Award for its new recipe Scotch Pies which continue to fly off the shelves.

As well as the two new stores at 140 Main Street, Alexandria and Dumbarton Road, Partick, near the Bus Interchange, James Allan Bakers has outlets in Torrance, Kirkintilloch, Lennoxtown, Lenzie, Helensburgh, Milngavie, Dennistoun, Riddrie and Carntyne.

James Allan Bakers’ managing director Mark Bradford said. “We are absolutely delighted to be in a position to expand and open two stores, especially in the current economic climate. Our sales have grown by 30% this year, testament to our philosophy of sticking to the traditional "home baking" style of making our products. Our focus is always on providing our customers with taste, quality and true value for money.”
