Another Swimming Pool Contract for Clark Contracts
The Health & Safety and essential property upgrade of Helensburgh Swimming Pool is the subject of a new £920,000 contract awarded to Clark Contracts by Argyll & Bute Council.
Due to start in early November, the work is scheduled for completion in July 2010. The project involves the upgrade of the existing building and pool which includes revising the layout to create new changing and shower areas, creating a new sauna, steamroom and gymnasium, replacing all mechanical and electrical services in the building and repairing the tiling in and around the pool itself.
The pool will be closed to the public for approximately 34 weeks to allow the work to be completed.
Sandy McTaggart, Head of Facilities, Argyll & Bute Council said, “Clark Contracts offered us a good price backed by the right relevant experience, including a track record for high quality work, on similar projects in the recent past.”
Clark Contracts undertook the refurbishment of Castlemilk Swimming Pool last year and, earlier this year, started work on the refurbishment of the Dollan Aqua Centre in East Kilbride.
Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts said, “We are delighted to be involved in the upgrade of such an important leisure facility for the local community.”
Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts has grown to employ around 200 staff at offices in Paisley, covering the West of Scotland, and Edinburgh, covering the East. Around 80% of the company’s work is repeat business and six out of ten is from customers who have worked with Clark Contracts for five years or more.
